To enable the church to move forward, the Trustees have made the difficult decision to sell the current site at Boone St. The current economic climate is causing major problems for many developers, as lenders are being very cautious, and many will not lend on non residential/non commercial developments.
We were left facing an uncertain future, with no definitive timescale for the new build, no income and having been shut now since the COVID pandemic, we could not accept that.
The Trustees and Committee carefully examined all options, but the only viable option for the church was to sell the site and relocate. We must reopen quickly, and we remain committed to serving Spirit and the community.
It’s not the first time that our church has relocated.
Where Are We Going ?
Well it won’t be far, as we have to find a new location within 5 miles of Boone St. Currently we are looking at a number of options, and we are open to renting, leasing or even purchasing a new venue.
The funds released by the sale, will allow us to not only find and buy (or lease) a new venue, but with a bit of sensible investment, will provide enough capital to completely cover our running costs.
While we find our new home, we will be running a new Beginners Circle, a Development Circle and a weekly Divine Service on the Zoom platform.
Making New Memories
Boone St has been the heart of our church since 1937, many of you will have fond memories of the Spiritualism that took place there, and the lifelong friends you made in the community.
Please cherish those memories, and we hope you’ll join us, and make new ones at our new location.
