Spiritual Healing

Spiritual Healing is best defined as a form of healing using the forces and energies of the world of spirit, channelled through a trained Healer by:

  • the laying on of hands on or close to the body,

  • remote prayer, or direction of thought from a distance

  • The use of a Healing Book

All trained Spiritualist Healers carry out healing in accordance with the philosophy and teachings of Spiritualism, and most Spiritualist churches have strict rules about its use as a therapy.

Spiritual Healing does not require the recipient to subscribe to a particular faith or belief, and can be be received by anyone irrespective of age, sex or even species. This differs from faith healing, which may not have a spiritual context behind it.

It is a significant part of the medical system of many non-western countries, and is used widely in the UK, with nine separate healing organisations registering approximately 13,000 healers.

In fact the nursing profession in the UK has been offering something very similar since the mid-1980’s. Theraputic Touch or Healing Touch is offered to patients in a variety of settings.

Therapeutic Touch or Healing Touch uses a practice called “laying on of hands” to correct or balance energy fields. Despite the use of the word “touch,” the hands usually hover over the body and do not physically touch it.

Therapeutic touch is based on the theory that the body, mind, and emotions form a complex energy field. According to therapeutic touch, good health is an indication of a balanced energy field, while illness represents imbalance. Studies suggest that therapeutic touch may help heal wounds, reduce pain, and lessen anxiety.

A German research project in 2014 interviewed 20 clients who had received Spiritual Healing and reported:

“Clients described multisensory perceptions with sensations of heat or light, and “energy” flowing through the body. Experiences of relaxation, inner peace, an increased feeling of harmony, inner balance and joy were most frequently reported. Some clients described and explained this perceived phenomenon as a process of “internal cleansing”. The state of consciousness during healing was described by some clients as a dreamlike condition in which the sense of time gets lost”

Not Just For Humans

Spiritual Healing can be beneficial to animals or your pets in the same way as anyone else. Over the years the Healers at LSC have carried out Spiritual Healing on a variety of animals, ranging from household pets to horses.

A Form Of Mediumship

Spiritual Healing is a form of Mediumship, where the healer attunes and allows powerful spiritual energies to be transmitted to the patient.  This differs from a reading by a Medium, who receive information from the spirit realm, which is passed on to the recipient of the message;

Often the healer often has little or no prior knowledge of the patient’s state of health or why they need healing, yet there is evidence that proves that the patient appears to receive help for the very condition that has caused them to seek help. Healers don’t offer a diagnosis or suggest forms of treatment.

But Please Continue Your Medical Treatment

It’s important that anyone wishing to receive Spiritual Healing, should have an open mind and a positive attitude towards their well-being, and it’s vital that they continue any medical treatment that has been prescribed for them by their doctors, nurse practitioners or therapists.

It’s a way of receiving the best treatment from both worlds. The spiritual nature of the healing can have a profound effect at all levels within a person; mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.
