Still Jumping Through Hoops

Delays, Delays and More Delays.

The long-running saga of our new Church and Community Centre continues. Our Trustees have been tied up all Summer, trying to get the final stages of the land transfer sorted out.

Since the original contract for the land transfer had expired, our new solicitor has been busy tying up the loose ends to create a new contract. Sadly the information we need to “seal the deal”, has been delayed by the solicitors acting for our partners.

Setting It Up To Succeed.

This has been incredibly frustrating for our Trustees and Committee, and we know that so many of our friends and supporters are itching for the new Church and Community Centre to be built and open. Regardless of the delays involved, our Trustees must carry out the required due diligence to avoid invoking the wrath of the Charity Commission, and causing the Church and Community Centre costly legal issues at a point further down the line.

A New Timeframe

Assuming that the legal side is sorted this month, we are realistically looking at November/December of 2024 for the first phase of construction (the Church and Community Centre) to be completed.  However, we are now looking for a small local venue to start some physical services in February/March of 2024.

And don’t forget that we offer a range of services online on the Zoom platform, and we have a night of Mediumship in Eltham on November 24th 2023.

Please just bear with us, Great Spirit will see this over the line.

The Trustees & Committee,

Lewisham Spiritualist Church.
