The Annual General Meeting of the Lewisham Spiritualist Church was held at 3pm on 05/06/22 at Boone St, with 12 members in attendance
The meeting opened with a report from the President Dorothy Firth, and the annual accounts were presented and accepted by a formal vote.
The following officers were then elected to serve for the 2022/23 period:
● President/Trustee: Dorothy Firth

● Vice President/Trustee: Miranda Wright
● Secretary/Trustee: Unfilled
● Treasurer/Trustee: Adam Tubero
● Committee: Pauline Woodhatch
● Committee: Bea Hicks
● Committee: Gary Titteridge
● Committee: Unfilled
The new committee will meet at its earliest convenience, and the unfilled trustee and committee posts may be filled by co-opting existing members. Miranda Wright has agreed to continue as Acting Secretary.
LSC were delighted to welcome Terry Brown as an Honorary Member. Terry has been invaluable to the church over the last year, and has agreed to help us prepare a new governing document in preparation for charity registration in 2023.
There were further items relating to the current position of the new church build and its use going forward. The church is currently just waiting on one final permission from the Charity Commission, which has already been applied for by our solicitor.
The meeting closed with a presentation from Terry Brown, who outlined the current position, what steps the charity needs to take next, the transitional arrangements and the final position that the charity needs to arrive at. The consultation with members to prepare a new governing document will begin at the end of June.
There were many questions, but going forward the church will be in a strong position ,and it’s hoped that the next building will renew interest in spiritualism in the local area. It was agreed that there needs to be a focus on using social media more, with a view to boosting recruitment.
